about us
We aim to offer a cost-effective camp site, along with friendly and caring staff, for youth groups, church groups, campers and hikers, as well as corporates wanting to break away for teambuilding.
our
story
During the 1970s, 14 Dutch Reformed congregations bought the Cascades Campsite in Betty’s Bay (adjacent to Harold Porter Nature Reserve) and started operating as a campsite where youngsters could camp at affordable rates. After some time, the campsite has been transferred to a non-profit company, Disakloof Jeugmaatskappy. Currently the vision of the Company is to provide up-lifting and recreational opportunities for the youth in their catchment areas, but especially to the youth from less privileged communities in the Western Cape.
We therefore aim to offer a high quality, cost-effective camp site, along with friendly and caring staff, for youth groups, church groups, campers and hikers, as well as corporates wanting to break away for teambuilding.
This is our small contribution to furthering education, charity, art, spirituality and our environment.
